Technium's Just Cause In Action

Technium's Just Cause In Action

As Technium’s inaugural year of Cyber Camp wraps up with the end of the school year, recruitment has already begun for 2024-2025, beginning with an April 25 event with partner Marlborough High School. Twelve students and two teachers from other schools visited with Technium staff.

"Technium believes there are multiple opportunities in cyber security for young professionals”, said Michael Joseph, Technium Co-Founder & CEO. “This expanding field continues to be understaffed and skilled; Technium is committed to building, and investing in, future engineers through our Cyber Camp. We’re excited to grow into our second year and work with our education partners at Marlborough Public Schools.”

ABOUT TECHNIUM CYBER CAMP

Technium Cyber Camp is a career pathway program for high school juniors and seniors to obtain a certification in the networking field while developing business knowledge and gaining industry connections.

Students who participate in Cyber Camp learn about the various career paths that are available in the networking and network security field through hands-on opportunities. Both Marlborough Public Schools and Technium are devoted to helping young professionals obtain learning opportunities that will change their life and inspire more individuals to join a thriving field at a younger age.

Cyber Camp officially kicked off in Fall 2023, after The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) connected Technium and Marlborough Public Schools based on the common goal of creating more career advancement opportunities at an earlier stage of an individual’s career. Technium developed a program curriculum that compliments the school’s current teachings in Computer Science and Information Technology.

“Technium is committed to encouraging and investing in young people interested in the field of technology” – Michael Joseph

CYBER CAMP SUCCESS STORY

LaGrace Parker, a recent graduate from Marlborough High School, was one of Cyber Camp’s first students – who we now welcome as a new Technium team member. She will be joining the team on July 1 as a Gate Engineer.

“One of the best parts of Cyber Camp was making connections with instructors and staff at Technium. I’m normally shy, so developing those professional relationships was a big personal win,” said Parker.

TCC helped me learn skills that will help in my professional career. High school students are pretty relaxed - and Cyber Camp helped with time management skills, how to prioritize my work and soft skills like how to make small talk and answer questions professionally.”

“Cyber Camp so exceeded my expectations – it was so well thought out, very well planned and Technium took great care of us.”
